Reading the response of the horse workshop

Aims of this workshop:

  • Improve awareness of the ways horses communicate their needs and emotions.
  • Help people to read the subtle body language of the horse, and give them the confidence to communicate with horses.
  • Introduce ideas and simple techniques that will enhance well-being of both people and horses, and improve trust between them.
  • An introduction to kinesiology muscle testing as a way of assessing stresses and needs.
  • To provide a grounding for further learning in this extensive field.

The workshop includes discussion and practical work in the following: Understanding responses of wild and domesticated horses, exploring how horses communicate, providing choice to horses for wellbeing/ self medication (zoopharmacognosy: plant extracts and oils) sensing how the horse feels, and how touch can benefit them, understanding how important intent is to our relationship with horses, discovering how both negative and positive energy flows to those around us, learning some simple grounding and de-stress techniques, plus some home practice exercises.

This workshop is open to anyone who is interested in: communicating with horses, improving trust in their relationship with horses, and enhancing the wellbeing of horses and themselves.

There will be opportunities to explore the aspects of this course further having completed this workshop.
