SUMMARY:Straightness Training Techniques for the Equine Practitioner with Marcia Wakeman
DESCRIPTION:£110 \nThis one day CPD is aimed at equine manual therapists who would like to provide their clients with some in hand strengthening techniques to suit their needs.  Marcia Wakeman is a classical trainer who has taken part in international competitions in Working Equitation\, and has produced and competed top level dressage horses.  She works closely with physiotherapists and musculoskeletal therapists to support the individual needs of horses; from rehabilitation to fine tuning high school manoeuvres. \nWe will be covering:  how to work via the bit and jaw to make global changes via relaxation of the TMJ and hyoid through the cervical vertebrae to the base of the neck.  We can then truly connect to and activate the hind quarters and core\, and bring awareness to balance\, suppleness and straightness through in hand walk exercises. \nThe method can be used as part of rehabilitation for strengthening and flexibility\, including applications for the horse confined to the stable\, and for enhancing performance through rehabilitation\, and as part of progressive training for any sphere of work. \nIn addition\, the approach works on a somatic level\, recalibrating the autonomic system in relation the ability to expand and contract range of movement via relaxation and interoception.  This enables deeper\, more detailed and longer term changes\, and builds trust with the rider or handler\, enabling progress through very simple steps. \n

SUMMARY:Tellington Touch Techniques to Release Fascial Tension\, Enhance Proprioception and Aid Rehabilitation
DESCRIPTION:With TEAM practitioner and teacher; Lesley Holyoake. \nWe are taking a maximum of 8 students on this course. \nThe Tellington-Touch method of handling\, training and rehabilitation is based on the principles of the Feldenkrais method\, which works on activating under-used neural pathways to aid in recovery\, improve physical and mental performance\, and increasing the ability to learn.  Some of the bodywork techniques can also ease fascial and muscular restrictions\, and facilitate deep changes in the body. \nThese exercises can be integrated into a therapy session to enhance range of movement\, reduce stiffness and improve proprioception\, and can be shared with owners to support their ongoing care. \nThis is open to any equine manual therapist\, including those who have attended TTouch courses with us before as we will cover a lot of different techniques to those previously taught. \nMORE DETAILS…

SUMMARY:Indirect Visceral Release Techniques; Focussing on the Equine Pelvis\, CPD with Neil Saunders
DESCRIPTION:Neil Saunders has been dubbed the body whisperer. He has a background in a variety of therapies\, including McTimoney Corley (trained by Hugh Corley)\, Bowen and Equine Touch. He has integrated his knowledge and experiences to create an amazingly effective approach to bodywork. After a ‘light bulb moment’\, he discovered that working indirectly on the viscera (internal organs and surrounding fascia) can make significant structural changes\, releasing tension and realigning the body with long lasting affects. On this day\, Neil will provide unique assessment techniques and application to realign the equine pelvis.  This course is open to any qualified equine manual therapists.\nMORE DETAILS…
