SUMMARY:Canine Myofascial Release: Indirect Deep Tissue Release and Cranial Applications
DESCRIPTION:£240 \n£220 for AMT and IAAT members. \nThis course is taught via Zoom on day 1\, with Jo Rose\, covering up to date research and professional opinions in fascia function/ health\, rebalancing approaches\, plus some home practice applications.  Day 2 is a fully practical hands on day  held at Little Green Stables\, Chard\, with Becky Baylis. \nThis CPD for canine manual therapists provides tuition in the indirect approach to canine myofascial release.  This involves slow sustained pressure\, working with the tissue and responses of the dog.  The methods taught are great for more sensitive dogs\, tissue in strong spasm or that is very restricted\, and where other methods are not successful. The effects are relaxing\, yet effective and long lasting. The method also includes osseus releases; gently and safely realigning joints.  It will also include some myofascial cranial-sacral applications\, plus discussion on the vagus nerve\,  lymphatic and glymphatic systems and associations with the acupressure meridian system. \nThe course is taught by animal musculoskeletal therapist; Jo Rose.  The course material includes the history of the method\, a detailed look at fascia and its many functions\, and what happens in dysfunction.  Much of the course is practical\, enabling students to get a feel of fascia releasing\, and how this benefits both body and the emotions. \nJo has worked alongside Dawn Seaman\, helping to facilitate the equine and canine Myofascial Release CPDs for many years\, and also has trained extensively in human Myofascial Release with MFRUK.  She has attended fascia training with Leon Chaitow and Robert Schleip\, amongst others.  Jo uses Myofascial release as a primary method to release deep physical and emotional tension throughout the body and realign the structure. \nTo book\, please contact us. \n

SUMMARY:McTimoney Corley Finger Flick with Tuning Fork Applications CPD for Equine and Canine Therapists
DESCRIPTION:£100 \n£85 for IAAT and AMT members \nThis CPD course provides the canine or/ and equine manual therapist with two complementary methods that create a vibration into the tissue with the aim of releasing tension. \n \nThese are non invasive approaches that stimulate the body’s natural mechanisms to reduce pain and tension\, and to aid in realignment of joints\, thereby aiding nerve function and correct comfortable movement. \nThis day is taught by Jo Rose\, who trained in the McTimoney Corley approach in 2011.  With approval from the Association of McTimoney Corley Spinal Therapists\, she has taken the finger vibration move of the Reflex Recoil Adjustment and adapted this further to be integrated into other therapeutic approaches for qualified manual therapists.  This McTimoney Corley approach can aid release and realignment of cranial bones as well spinal\, pelvic bones and rib restrictions\, and can help to regulate the autonomic nervous system. \nMaintaining the theme of clearing tension through vibration application\, Jo also includes use of tuning forks to facilitate release of tight fascia\, to stimulate the acupressure meridian system\, and for calming and balancing the emotions.  The tuning forks can borrowed on the day\, and are a very affordable extra piece of kit for those who want to include them in practice. \nWe also touch on toning of the vagus nerve and stimulation of the cranial/sacral system. \n£100 \n

DESCRIPTION:£110 \nThis one day CPD is aimed at equine manual therapists who would like to provide their clients with some in hand strengthening techniques to suit their needs.  Marcia Wakeman is a classical trainer who has taken part in international competitions in Working Equitation\, and has produced and competed top level dressage horses.  She works closely with physiotherapists and musculoskeletal therapists to support the individual needs of horses; from rehabilitation to fine tuning high school manoeuvres. \nWe will be covering:  how to work via the bit and jaw to make global changes via relaxation of the TMJ and hyoid through the cervical vertebrae to the base of the neck.  We can then truly connect to and activate the hind quarters and core\, and bring awareness to balance\, suppleness and straightness through in hand walk exercises. \nThe method can be used as part of rehabilitation for strengthening and flexibility\, including applications for the horse confined to the stable\, and for enhancing performance through rehabilitation\, and as part of progressive training for any sphere of work. \nIn addition\, the approach works on a somatic level\, recalibrating the autonomic system in relation the ability to expand and contract range of movement via relaxation and interoception.  This enables deeper\, more detailed and longer term changes\, and builds trust with the rider or handler\, enabling progress through very simple steps. \n

SUMMARY:Herbal Immersion: A Journey Through Taste and Essence. ½ Day online workshop.
DESCRIPTION:£45\n\nThis Zoom CPD morning\, run by Rachael Maxwell (Medicinal Herbalist and Applied Animal Herbal Choices Consultant)\, focuses on herbal energetics giving the attendee a strong base to build the principles and a solid foundation to build the practical application on. The morning include 1 x  organoleptic (impression on the organs) tasting to help identify a plants quality and potential application. Rachael describes what plant energetics are and how you could apply this into your practice. Rachael will provide an analysis of some well know herbs and detail how energy\, the environment and the animal’s constitution can guide the practitioner in the correct herbs to offer. The morning provides a space to discern plant spirit and students get the opportunity to investigate how plant spirit can guide their own practice.  The CPD is aimed at Applied Herbal Choices for Animals graduates and students and Applied Zoopharmacognosy consultants.  Meditation and energetic principles are used to guide traditional offering methods.\nLink to join. https://www.animalbotanical.co.uk/offers/dF2bM77f

SUMMARY:The McTimoney Corley Approach with Tuning Forks for Structural and Facial Release for the Animal Manual Therapist
DESCRIPTION:£100 \n£85 for AMT and IAAT members \nThis CPD course provides the equine or canine manual therapist with two complementary methods that create a vibration into the tissue with the aim of releasing tension. \nThese are non invasive approaches that stimulate the body’s natural mechanisms to reduce pain and tension\, and to aid in realignment of joints\, thereby aiding nerve function and correct comfortable movement. \nThis day is taught by Jo Rose\, who trained in the McTimoney Corley approach in 2011.  With approval from the Association of McTimoney Corley Spinal Therapists\, she has taken the finger vibration move of the Reflex Recoil Adjustment and simplified this further to be integrated into other therapeutic approaches for qualified therapists.  This McTimoney Corley approach can aid release and realignment cranial bones as well spinal and pelvic bones. \nMaintaining the theme of release of tension through vibration application\, Jo also includes use of a tuning fork to facilitate release of myofascial and emotional tension.  The tuning forks can borrowed on the day\, and are a very affordable extra piece of kit for those who want to include them in practice. \nTo book\, please contact us.

SUMMARY:Equine Neurolymphatic Visceral and Muscular Rebalancing
DESCRIPTION:Neurolymphatic massage points\, also known as Chapman’s reflexes\, have been used in human therapy for many years as part of the Kinesiologist’s tool kit of corrections.  Using muscle testing\, physical and visceral energy imbalances can be identified\, and then corrected through massaging specific points where congestion has occurred as a result. \nJo Rose is a Kinesiology therapist and teacher\, who also works with the fascial system to release tension and facilitate rebalance for all aspects of body function.  As an animal musculoskeletal therapist\, she has found that these points integrate well into her holistic approach. \nIn this CPD\, Jo will be sharing some key aspects of this approach\, including: \nMuscle testing\, including surrogate testing\, self testing\, plus specific test positions that relate to particular muscles and organs\, assessment for energy congestion in these areas. \nApplication of corrective neurolymphatic techniques to facilitate activation in key organs and muscles. \n

SUMMARY:Equine Pole Workshop in Somerset
DESCRIPTION:This  7 hour CPD day in Somerset is provided by Rebeccah Baylis from LGS & Trudi Dempsey \nThis is a full theory & practical day looking at how pole work can support the ridden equine along side rehabilitation\, strengthening & training. \n Trudi: As a gymnastic dressage coach & behaviour consultant Trudi uses poles in a wide range of situations. Pole work supports balance\, proprioception\, coordination & flexibility but there is an often missed extra when pole work is trained with behaviour in mind. \nIntroduced carefully & systematically\, pole work training creates confidence & trust in the handler/rider. \nTrudi promotes the idea of horses learning to be responsible for their own balance without the need for any rope or rein pressure. \nDuring the workshop we will look at: \n• Basic learning theory for rein/rope handling skills \n• How to position yourself to support your horse when working on the ground \n• Simple exercises for balance \n• Introducing bend & flexion \n• Poles in series to benefit rhythm & regularity \n• Proprioception exercises \n• Pole box exercises in preparation for lateral work \nFrom a Therapist eye we will: \n·        Look at In-hand exercises for developing proprioception & straightness. \n·        Long reining for core strength & improved flexibility. \n·        Ridden exercises to develop core strength & flexibility\, given in walk to enable the equine therapist to provide onsite help\, plus recommendations for faster paces as aftercare strengthening. \n·        We will specifically target muscle groups according to the needs of the horse\, along with general core strengthening & postural correctness of the horse. \n·        The aim is to build balance\, stability\, enhance flexibility & coordination in the ridden equine as part of their education process. This is also valuable for re-educating post injury or for fitness training. \nThis course is for anyone interested in rehabilitation & training in the ridden equine. \nIt is possible to bring your horse as a ridden participant.  Please contact the organiser. \n\n£60 per rider/horse (spaces limited) \n£100 for therapist CPD attendance

SUMMARY:Applied Kinesiology Skills for the Canine Manual Therapist Onsite or via Zoom with Jo Rose
DESCRIPTION:Muscle testing is used by Applied Kinesiologists to assess their client for areas of imbalance\, and to find the best correction for the issues. An area that is out of balance (physical trauma\, pain\, misalignment\, neurological or biochemical imbalance) affects the energy of the area\, effectively short circuiting it.  When in contact with this disruption\, this impacts on the strength of a functional muscle test\, which can be applied as a self test or via another person\, thereby highlighting the area of imbalance. \nMuscle testing can also be used to find the best means of correcting the imbalance\, and can help to really pin point the crux of the problem\, with detail in direction\, depth and pressure. \nThis skill can be combined with conventional assessment techniques and observations of animal responses to demonstrate clear positive changes. \nStudents can practice on themselves\, other people\, and dogs during the session.  The course can be attended at home via Zoom\, as long as you have a dog to hand.  You may attend in person on site if you prefer.  If attending via Zoom\, the full hours will be made up with an additional case study write up. \nWe will cover:   \nHow to muscle test\, and what it is telling us: \nOverview of functional testing and how this can be used to indicate changes in the electrical flow through the fascia and nerves. \nThe rules of testing accurately. \nAssessment: \nLocating of imbalances using body sections and anatomical scan lines through muscle testing\, plus standardising this against common assessment techniques. \nAdditional focus on assessing the vagus nerve and visceral imbalance. \nCorrections: \nFinding the depth and direction of the correction; from skin level through musculoskeletal to visceral. \nUsing two pointing corrections. \nApplying vagus nerve corrections. \nAsking for emotional release through heart energy connection. \nReassessment
