SUMMARY:The three equine diaphragms and their role in whole body function CPD: A holistic approach to treatment
DESCRIPTION:£130 for the one day\, or £220 for both the equine and canine CPDs. \nThis CPD day with Osteopath; Sara Farina\, explores the three diaphragms of the body (cervicothoracic\, respiratory and pelvic) and how their function influences each other within the integrated body as a whole. The diaphragms are in constant movement\, forming a pressure regulating mechanism for brain-body function. To practitioners\, they provide an access point to affect the nervous system’s regulatory mechanisms and influence optimal wellbeing of the animal. This course will draw on evidence-based biomechanical principles\, as well as osteopathic treatment theory to provide a holistic approach to the consideration\, assessment and treatment of the three diaphragms. \nPlease book here: CLICK ON THIS LINK \nDAY OUTLINEMorning:–         Introduction to the concept of the three diaphragms within the body–        Anatomy and pathophysiology of the cervicothoracic\, respiratory and pelvic diaphragms and related structures–        Anatomy of the vagus and related nerves and their relationship with the diaphragms–        Evidence informed approach to biomechanical release of these areas and consequent benefits–        Regional interdependence: how the function of each diaphragm influences the others and the whole body–        Considerations around movement biomechanics and how good function of the diaphragms effects this–        Theory of osteopathic techniques taught\, such as fascial release and mobilisation–        Outline of techniques which will be taught in afternoonAfternoon:–        Demonstration of techniques with time for students to practice and receive hands on tuition  –        Q&A and final considerations

SUMMARY:Body Alignment and Nervous System Regulation\, Incorporating Muscle Testing Applications for the Animal Therapist
DESCRIPTION:£95 \nOpen to any type of manual animal therapist. \nAims… \n\nTo understand the some of the physiology behind the use of muscle testing in Applied Kinesiology for assessment and guidance on therapeutic applications.\nTo assess for musculoskeletal\, visceral\, functional\, connection lines and emotional energy imbalances\, and prioritise focus.\nTo apply muscle testing as guidance of application of personal therapeutic tool kits\, and implement figure of 8 energy applications\, and nervous system holds to facilitate realignment and regulate the nervous system. \n\nMuscle testing is used by Applied Kinesiologists to assess their client for areas of imbalance\, and to find the best correction for the issues. An area that is out of balance (physical trauma\, pain\, misalignment\, neurological or biochemical imbalance) affects the energy of the area\, effectively short circuiting it.  When in contact with this disruption\, this impacts on the strength of a functional muscle test\, which can be applied as a self test or via another person\, thereby highlighting the area of imbalance. \nMuscle testing can also be used to find the best means of correcting the imbalance\, and can help to really pin point the crux of the problem\, with detail in direction\, depth and pressure. \nThis skill can be combined with conventional assessment techniques and observations of animal responses to demonstrate clear positive changes. \nWe will include equine and canine practice. \nWe will cover:   \nHow to muscle test\, and what it is telling us: \nOverview of functional testing and how this can be used to indicate changes in the electrical flow through the fascia and nerves. \nThe rules of testing accurately. \nAssessment: \nLocating of imbalances using body sections and anatomical scan lines through muscle testing\, plus standardising this against common assessment techniques. \nAdditional focus on assessing the vagus nerve and visceral imbalance. \nCorrections: \nFinding the depth and direction of the correction\, plus application\, from skin level through musculoskeletal to visceral. \nUsing two pointing corrections for improved fascial connections. \nApplying vagus nerve rebalancing corrections. \nAiding emotional release from old holding patterns. \nAiding physical realignment. \nReassessment
