Animal Herbal Choices: Spring Forage, Product Making and Animal Application
29th April 2017 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm
£50 – £90The day includes a morning forage, with information on wild hedgerow and field herbs relevant to animal application. Students are provided with comprehensive details of the plants, their traditional uses, preparation and contraindications. This includes foraging with application to animals via self selection. Students are advised to bring a notebook and camera for extra notes and a reference for identification.
On returning to the classroom, the herbs are then prepared for use and storage. Students learn how to dry, make herbal wound powders, and fly sprays / mite powder.
A practical section with animals is also included in the foraging days.
We invite outside experts, such as medical herbalist Chris Hope from Ipso Phyto, to provide additional knowledge of wild plants and their properties to the forage section of the day.
Those not on the full course may attend the morning forage for interest only: £50
