This CPD course will provide the attendee with practical knowledge in the key aspects of foot health; covering how the foot grows, morphology, healthy growth, unhealthy growth, Laminae, soft tissue, osteitis, laminitis, pathology and much more!!
You will be given tips on how to assess the integrity of the foot, how to spot unwanted changes, how foot issues can affect biomechanics globally, the importance of nutrition and a healthy gut for foot health, the recovery process through a holistic approach, and more.
The day will include a lecture and group discussion, observing gait and foot placement, discussing how to find anomalies in the foot and what they mean, assessing both unshod and shod horses for foot integrity and quality, relating this to movement, performance, nutrition and general health.
Clive has been passionate about barefoot care for many years, and has been a popular practicing podiatrist since 2010, providing educational lectures and demonstrations with the aim of encouraging a wider understanding of foot health and care.
Although Clive predominantly works with barefoot horses, this information is valuable for both shod and unshod horses, and will provide you with essential tips and knowledge pass on to your owner.
