Canine Myofascial Release: Indirect Deep Tissue Release and Cranial Applications

By No Comments

£240

£220 for AMT and IAAT members.

This course is taught via Zoom on day 1, with Jo Rose, covering up to date research and professional opinions in fascia function/ health, rebalancing approaches, plus some home practice applications.  Day 2 is a fully practical hands on day  held at Little Green Stables, Chard, with Becky Baylis.

This CPD for canine manual therapists provides tuition in the indirect approach to canine myofascial release.  This involves slow sustained pressure, working with the tissue and responses of the dog.  The methods taught are great for more sensitive dogs, tissue in strong spasm or that is very restricted, and where other methods are not successful. The effects are relaxing, yet effective and long lasting. The method also includes osseus releases; gently and safely realigning joints.  It will also include some myofascial cranial-sacral applications, plus discussion on the vagus nerve,  lymphatic and glymphatic systems and associations with the acupressure meridian system.

The course is taught by animal musculoskeletal therapist; Jo Rose.  The course material includes the history of the method, a detailed look at fascia and its many functions, and what happens in dysfunction.  Much of the course is practical, enabling students to get a feel of fascia releasing, and how this benefits both body and the emotions.

Jo has worked alongside Dawn Seaman, helping to facilitate the equine and canine Myofascial Release CPDs for many years, and also has trained extensively in human Myofascial Release with MFRUK.  She has attended fascia training with Leon Chaitow and Robert Schleip, amongst others.  Jo uses Myofascial release as a primary method to release deep physical and emotional tension throughout the body and realign the structure.

£70

This CPD course in canine Reflexology is aimed at those who are qualified in canine massage, or other canine physical therapies.

We are running this as an option to attend onsite or online live Zoom course with small groups so individual guidance can be provided if needed.   The CPD is 4 – 4.5 hours in length, but with the course material to read through, provides 5 hours CPD.  If you would like to join onsite on the day, this is also possible.

The course provides an over view of reflexology, including zone theory, plus practical application of points for the physical structure, organs and proprioception / gait balance.  We also touch on ear reflexology, acupressure meridians and bud chakras.  To enable you to benefit fully from this course, we ask you have a dog available to practice with during the session.

Students will receive unique canine reflexology charts.
