5th August 2017 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm

Dr Carol Hughes is a researcher into the use of British wild plant constituents for common animal conditions, particularly those related to obesity and inflammation.   She is part of the Phytorigins team, which is developing a centre of excellence for Bioscience and the use of plant chemicals as medicine.  Her other company; ‘Superfix’ have developed herbal anti-inflammatory and gut supplements in conjunction with research in Newmarket.

This day covers the biochemistry of animals in relation to selecting plants and herbs for self medication, and looks at combinations of plants for best effect, as well as where they grow.  This will include forage sections.  Carol will be back on the 25th Aug to provide another workshop day on the influence of herbal constituents on the inflammatory, detoxification and repair pathways.

This CPD workshop is aimed at those who are current or previous students on the Applied Herbal Choices for Animals course or are Applied Zoopharmacognosy qualified, or whose qualifications include  animal nutrition.
